You won’t believe how many topics are connected to growing your own food in a sustainable way. We’re passionate about these issues and invite you to join the discussions on our blog, Ecofare. We’d love to know what you think!

If you’d like to get instant updates on what we’re researching, feel free to follow us on Facebook or Twitter, or subscribe to Ecofare’s RSS feed. We also link to relevant videos on YouTube. Simply click on the icons to your right.

Child Nutrition:  1 of 3 children in the US is overweight or obese. A huge problem that can be fixed with good eating habits and exercise.

Community:  Can gardens and local food systems bring together your community? You betcha.

Community Gardens:  Sustainably grown produce is accessible to all through community garden programs.

Education:  We believe that education is the first step in making a change. Are you ready for some inspiration?

Environment:  Everything we consume comes at a cost to the environment. That includes food.

Grow Your Own:  According to Michael Pollan, growing your own is the greenest thing you can do. And it’s cool. In 2009, 48 million fellow Americans started a home garden.

Health:  Making the connections between food and our health. We are what we eat!

Home Gardens:  For every $10 you invest in a home garden, you’ll harvest $100 worth of produce. Get your kids involved and they’ll learn to love their veggies.

Industrialized Agriculture:  “Big Ag” is overfeeding and under nourishing our population. We have more prisoners than farmers in the United States. Our average meal contains ingredients from at least five countries outside of our own. What’s going on here?

Industrialized Food:  Industrialization wasn’t just about products. You won’t believe the true cost of food to our economy and our health.

Local Food:  What would happen if you bought a lot of your food from local sources? A lot of good stuff for you, your family, your local economy and your environment.

Research:  We do a lot of research about these topics. Here’s where you’ll find the sources.

School Gardens:  Kids who garden eat more fruits and vegetables. Enough said.

School Lunches:  Schools play a huge part in educating and feeding our kids. It’s time to bring fresh, local food to our cafeterias.

Sustainability:  We love innovative sustainable ideas. Here’s where we share them.

Sustainable Agriculture:  It wasn’t long ago that we grew everything in a sustainable way. Yes, we have more people to feed but does it have to come at the expense of our health and the environment?

In the News!  We’re proud of our little victories, and we like sharing them with you.
